Women
Divers Hall of Fame will host the 1st Annual Duck
Derby to benefit it's Scholarship Programs. The
Derby will consist of a Ducktail Party and two races
at the Shelborne pool in Miami Beach, Thursday,
October 9th. The Ducktail Party will begin at 6:00
pm with WDHOF pin and certificate presentation.
The first race will be a Corporate Sponsor Mallard
Duck Race at 7pm followed by the Public Rubber Ducky
Race at 8pm, where the ducks will float down the
pool for trophies and cash prizes.
If
you or your company would like to sponsor a Mallard
Duck, we will supply the "Generic Mallard"
you supply the creativity. You will receive two
tickets to the Ducktail Party and get to display
your dressed Mallard at the Ducktail Party. Your
dressed Mallard will be entered into the "Best
Dressed Duck", contest and then you get to
race your mallard against the other Sponsor Mallards.
Mallards are a $100 donation. May the best duck
win !
If
the big mallard is not your style you or your friends,
might just want to adopt a Rubber Ducky or a flock
of duckies. The public race is at 8pm. The donation
is $ 10.00 per ducky adoption. Cash prizes will
be awarded, so you can involve your non scuba friends
too! You do not need to be present to win.
The
Ducktail Party will feature: Hors d'oeuvres &
no-host bar * Judging for the Best Decorated Mallards
* Casual Dress * Mallard Race * Rubber Ducky Race.
Everyone is invited to come join the festivities
under the Miami Beach stars, and be amazed by the
Decorated Mallard Ducks. Cost $ 15.00 * Shelborne
Hotel-Poolside,1801 Collins Avenue,South Beach,
Florida.
All
proceeds Benefit the Women Divers Hall of Fame Scholarship
Programs. WDHOF, Hugh Fletcher Memorial and Cecelia
Connelly Memorial Scholarships.
